VicHealth Active Club Grants - Round 2 Now Open
In 2016–17, VicHealth’s Active Club Grants will provide funding to increase the opportunities Victorians have to participate in community sport clubs. The funding will prioritise two outcome areas: Outcome area 1: Female participation Outcome area 2: Participation in social and modified forms of sport VicHealth is inviting Victoria’s community sporting clubs to address these factors by either creating new sport opportunities or by implementing, within your own club, an existing program created by a State or National sporting organisation.
Barriers and Facilitators to Participation in Organised Physical Activity Survey
Parents, guardians, coaches and children are invited to take part in a study to explore the benefits and barriers to participation in organised physical activity programs around Australia for children with physical and developmental disabilities and challenges. Parents of children with disabilities, developmental challenges, or additional needs aged between 4 -17 years are encouraged to participate in this study.
Game Changer: Female Facilities Community Campaign – Bayside City Council
Bayside City Council identified that the lack of existing facilities that support female participation was a significant issue for them. With 27 sporting pavilions, 50 sports clubs, 1300 teams and 20,000 club members, only 80 per cent of Bayside’s pavilions predate 1960 and 96 per cent don’t have appropriate change facilities for women.
