Pokemon Go - Business Model Canvas Case Study


Did you get swept up in the Pokemon Go craze during 2016? Following its release in July, the augmented reality game got thousands of Australians off the couch an out walking the streets.

Like many other global crazes, Pokemon Go has suffered a large decline in player numbers. So is Pokemon Go the ultimate scalable model, or just a fad? Before you make up your mind, check out this video, in which Pokemon Go is analysed through the lens of the Business Model Canvas.

As discussed in this article on The Conversation website, one of the great success stories was the developer’s ability to capitalise on the strong interest shown early on. This relates to some of the discussion that took place at the SSP/RSP ‘Scaling Up’ workshop in 23 November, around when is the best time to capitalise on interest in your program and begin to scale up.
