MPIO Network #4: Dealing with Difficult People & Situations
With the support of Sport & Recreation Victoria, Vicsport is proud to deliver the Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) network sessions.
Dealing with Difficult People and Situations is a training workshop for all staff and Member Protection Information Officers working in State Sporting Associations (SSA), Regional Sport Assemblies (RSAs) and stakeholder organisations.
As people return to community sport, administrators may face conflict, have to deal with outrage, and have difficult and confronting conversations with stakeholders due to issues around COVID-19 vaccinations and who can and cannot participate.
The workshop will be facilitated by Christopher Shen, who is a Registered Psychologist, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He is currently Psychologist with the Western Bulldogs AFLW team, the Equestrian Victoria Jumping State Squads, and the Gippsland Sports Academy.
In this highly interactive workshop, Christopher will provide practical strategies for dealing with difficult people and situations, outraged people, and people demonstrating emotional distress. He will also explore how you can look after your own mental health when dealing with difficult people and situations.
