This Girl Can Week 2024

Everyone in our community deserves to move in a way that feels good for them.

But we know that for many women, finding the time and space can feel hard – particularly when you’re juggling caring for kids or family members, work and accessibility.

Inaccessible and culturally unsafe or unwelcoming spaces present an extra barrier for women with disabilities, women from multicultural and multi-faith communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, too.

That’s why the This Girl Can - Victoria community exists, to bring together women and the physical activity sector in breaking down the barriers that keep us from enjoying the physical and mental benefits of being active.

This Girl Can Week, from Sunday 10 November-Sunday 17 November, is all about celebrating and supporting everyday women to get active in ways that suit them — featuring a range of physical activity events designed to welcome beginners and those curious to try something new.

Local councils, sporting clubs, community organisations and volunteers from around the state are encouraged to run free or low-cost beginner friendly activities for women to come together and move.
