SSP/RSP Physical Activity Workshop #1: Scaling Up

In order to reach and engage larger quantities of new participants, sport programs need to be scaled up. This means taking a model that has been successful within a small local market and expanding to a much larger number of delivery sites. Therefore, the first of two workshops in the 2016-17 SSP/RSP program will be all about sustainability and scalability.

In order for a program to be scaled up to a larger market, you first need to have a solid strategy for how this is going to be implemented. This workshop will focus on strategy (i.e. when and how to expand your program), and give you the opportunity to workshop what actions you will need to take so that your program is ready to be scaled up in the future.

As a guest speaker we have organised Andrew Walton, CEO of InteractSport, to talk about his experience scaling up a product. InteractSport started in 1999 as an online statistics management system for a cricket club, and over the past 17 years the product has been scaled up to provide web based management systems for sport organisations all over the world.

You will then engage in workshop activities led by Spark Strategy: experts in strategic thinking, transformation and sustained action. The workshop will assist with key areas you need to consider when expanding your program: value proposition, delivery models, payment methods, program deliverers, facilities and equipment.
