We Serve Alcohol

Sport has a long-standing association with alcohol consumption resulting in a high number of clubs across Victoria serving alcohol. During the Healthy Sporting Environments program, alcohol consumption was identified to be as high as 72% across participating community sporting clubs in regional Victoria (Healthy Sporting Environments evaluation).Sporting organisations that serve alcohol can influence and improve the responsible use of alcohol by making a variety of simple changes.

Alcohol may be served in the form of a licenced bar or venue, from the club canteen or even from an esky.

Clubs that serve alcohol have a duty of care to their members and visitors to work towards reducing the risks of alcohol by being a responsible club and managing alcohol consumption. This can include providing:
