Session Review: Activating a Nation

On Friday 1 July 2016, VicHealth hosted a session with Jenny Price, the CEO of Sport England at the Conference Centre at the State Library titled Activating a Nation – A morning with Jenny Price. The event was filled to capacity and for those lucky enough to attend it was outstanding, with Jenny captivating her audience with stories, facts and figures and amazing insights into her world.

Jenny has played a pivotal role in the development of Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign and its new strategy to tackle inactivity, Towards An Active Nation that sets out a bold and ambitious new direction over the next 5 year period (2016 – 2021). The new vision for Sport England is to engage the nation - regardless of age, background and level of activity - to feel safe to engage in sport and physical activity.

Jenny takes us on a journey explaining the key themes and behavioural issues and challenges facing those under-represented groups that Sport England is so desperately trying to engage with.

For those RSA/SSA staff that were not able to attend this session, it is highly recommended that you review the session.
