In The News: South West Sport Progresses Water Policies

Andrew Sloane, Program Manager for South West Sport believes a natural progression of the nudges that South West Sport is implementing with clubs and facilities is to progress them to adopting/implementing a water policy. Andrew is currently in the process of pulling together Water Policies focused on several different target groups, including:

  1. Clubs – with a focus on the canteen and water/hydration for performance;
  2. Facilities – specifically for canteens and may include an element of education to key user groups i.e. schools or clubs that frequently use the facility;
  3. Councils – focus attention on existing water promotion plans or policies in place and address availability of water facilities, playgroups, recreational reserves and ultimately make this an actionable item within their Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plans.

We encourage you to share information to assist each other in developing policy information and look forward to hearing about your progress.
