Victorian Sport Community Iftar Dinner

Vicsport and the Australian Intercultural Society invite you to the second Victorian Sport Community Iftar Dinner.

This event was held for the first time in 2016 and featured a panel of Fawad Ahmed (Cricket), Ahmed Saad (AFL) and Maddy Hogan (Paralympian) spoke about their experience in sport - particularly focused on building inclusive environments and how sport brings people together regardless of language/ethnicity/gender. Our 2017 panellists will be announced soon.

Ramadan is the holiest month of the Islamic calendar where Muslims are encouraged to fast from sunrise to sunset by abstaining from food and water amongst other things. This month is also an opportunity to reflect on the bounties provided to them by their Creator and be mindful of others who are not so fortunate by offering alms, being charitable and hospitable. It’s tradition to invite friends to break the fast at sunset so it’s for that reason we would like to see you at the dinner table.

We hope that you will join us to celebrate cultural diversity in Victorian sport.
