Inclusive Coaching Resource Industry Consultation

Do you want to help design a resource to help all coaches in Australia be more inclusive?

The Inclusive Sport Working Group (ISWG) – a collaboration between Victorian State Sporting Associations and Regional Sport Assemblies has identified a gap in the industry around a consistent inclusive coaching resource. To support the industry, the ISWG have initiated development of an online inclusive coaching resource to assist coaches from all sports to effectively adapt and modify programs to support the inclusion of people from underrepresented groups in their sport.

The aim is to provide benefit for all sport and active recreation organisations through a complimentary online resource which enhances the capability of coaches to actively include women and girls, people with disability, Indigenous Australians, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, LGBTI, and older adults.

The group intends to work with from experts in the fields of sport participation, coaching and inclusion who can provide valuable input to help design the resource.

Therefore, we invite you to attend a consultation workshop which will include:

• Information about the resource concept as developed by the Inclusive Sport Working Group
• Opportunities to provide critical feedback to shape this resource that will sit on Play by the Rules and be available to all sports
• A chance to identify relevant and existing resources, and express interest in collaborating with the group on this project
