Trauma Informed Care Workshop

Join us for a two-part workshop series on Trauma Informed Care for preventing child abuse and promoting safety in sport.

Vicsport is pleased to offer a Child Safe Sport and Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) Workshop.

This opportunity is available for staff who look after Child Safeguarding and Member Protection from Victorian State Sport Associations (SSAs), Regional Sport Assemblies (RSAs) and State Sport & Recreation Bodies (SSRBs). We encourage multiple people from the same organisation to attend both workshops, as you will have the opportunity to reflect on your internal organisational practices and policies, in addition to learning individual skills.

Supported by the Victorian State Government, this two-part workshop series will be delivered by Victoria University experts Professor Alex Parker, Dr Aurelie Pankowiak and Dr Mary Woessner and unpack practical recommendations for applying principles of Trauma Informed Care for preventing child abuse and promoting safety in sport.

The workshop series blends evidence-based information and activities to engage participants in real world scenarios.

Please note, attendance at both sessions (Tuesday 24 September and Tuesday 15 October) is required.

Numbers will be capped with preference given to staff working in peak sporting organisations within the areas of Child Safety and Member Protection.
