Join us for the third in a series of four governance workshops aimed at existing and aspiring directors in sport governance as well as CEOs and senior managers working in sport.

Governance Series Overview

Our Governance Workshop Series consists of four topics across four months with the next workshop (#3) to be held at Lander & Rogers' Melbourne office before the fourth and final session is held online. This series is designed for CEO’s, senior managers and existing and aspiring directors in sport governance. You will hear from industry experts and current sport directors providing valuable information and case studies on a range of topics:

• #1: Board Policies and Procedures (3 April 2024).
• #2: Risk Management (8 May 2024).
• #3: Sport Integrity (6 June 2024) - at Lander & Rogers.
• #4: Diversity & Inclusion (July date TBC) - online

Workshop Details - #3 Sport Integrity

With Simon Merritt, specialist sports lawyer at Lander & Rogers, this workshop will cover:

• Overview of the National Integrity Framework (NIF) and Sport Integrity Australia (SIA)
• Sports signed to the NIF and Sports aligned to the NIF
• Considerations for directors and senior managers implementing integrity policies and managing integrity issues:
  • Formally adopting Integrity policies - board meeting, minutes etc.
  • Updating policies & procedures - constitution, complaints handling process etc.
  • Legal considerations
  • Importance of following correct process
  • Maintaining previous policies for historical matters
  • Role of the board in monitoring integrity breaches
  • Educating directors, staff, members and participants
