Member Protection Workshop: eSafety Sports Hub

This is a workshop for all staff and Member Protection Information Officers (MPIOs) working in State Sporting Associations (SSA), Regional Sport Assemblies (RSAs) and stakeholder organisations.

On Wednesday 13 December from 10.30am-11.30am, Vicsport, in conjunction with the eSafety Commissioner, will run a free online workshop providing an overview of the new eSafety Sports Hub.

With support from major Australian sporting codes, the new eSafety Sports hub includes resources available to help stem the tide of online abuse from the grassroots to the elite level.

The Sports hub is a one-stop-shop for administrators, coaches, officials, parents and competitors to learn ways to prevent and manage online abuse in community sport.

It includes practical information on how to recognise and deal with online abuse and has tailored advice and scenarios for sports administrators, coaches, officials, parents and competitors.

This workshop will be run by Shannon Dixon from the eSafety Commissioner and will provide an overview of:

  • What sport administrators can do to provide a safe environment.
  • Resources available including videos, posters, supporter kits and social media tiles.
  • Use of the online reporting tool.
  • Questions and Discussion from the group.
