2019 Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Festival

The festival began in 2010 and promotes and celebrates physically active lifestyles for people of all abilities on International Day of People with Disability each year.

It offers Victorians with, and without, disability the opportunity to explore and experience accessible and inclusive sport and recreation through hands-on activities and information sharing.

In 2018, 40% of festival attendees surveyed said they had found a new sport or recreational activity to take part in.

Featuring over 40 exhibitors and three activity zones, you can try different inclusive sport and recreational activities, learn about programs you can get involved with in your community, meet Paralympians and watch the Vision Australia Radio live broadcast.

You can also witness the Law Enforcement Torch Run, with over 100 police and Special Olympics athletes running from the Victoria Police Centre with the Flame of Hope to light the cauldron at the festival.

Each year, we invite schools to take part in the Get Active Challenge and Victorian businesses are invited to take part in the Corporate Challenge.

Come and celebrate International Day of People with Disability by getting active!
