Strengthening practices to Elect, Appoint and Induct future board members

Sport in Australia, and particularly Victoria, is going through a significant period of change with regard to governance, board diversity and the expectations of board members. Each year sporting organistions undertake their AGM with little change to director recruitment, election and induction processes.

Strategies discussed within this workshop will be especially beneficial to organisations required to meet the State Governments in-coming Mandatory Board Quotas on 1 July 2019.

What can I expect at the Building Effective Boards Workshop?

This workshop uses scenario based discussions and activities to provide participants with practical strategies that can be used to identify talented and diverse board members into the future. Some of the key take-outs you can expect from attending the Building Effective Boards Workshop include...

• An increased knowledge of recruitment, election and induction processes through active discussion and scenarios

• Better awareness, knowledge and action of incoming Mandatory Board Quotas

Should I attend this event?

This VPN event is free for VPN members, or is otherwise $49 for non-VPN members.

Current Board Members and CEOs are encouraged to attend this event, given their involvement in the election, recruitment and induction of their organisations Board. This event is also ideal for future/aspiring Board Directors and Senior Industry Professionals wanting to increase their knowledge and awareness of factors which constitute an effective board.
