Times are changing. Nowadays, the food offered at local sporting clubs is moving in a positive direction and the benefits of healthy eating are obvious.
You'll still be able to find a bag of mixed lollies for $1 but there are now more healthier choices available on menu boards at canteens that are proving to enhance sport performance and motivation.
VicHealth in conjunction with Vicsport have have complied a set resources encouraging sporting organisations to gradually implement healthier food choices to their existing menus. Access the resources here.
Netball Victoria took part in a case study by making slight changes to the food they provided at their NetSetGo programs. Watch the video below and see how making slight changes in their approach had a positive impact.
